Khalid GREEN
Community Basketball Director
New Heights Youth
Khalid oversees the development of all our community basketball initiatives and partnerships. He has been a fixture in the New York City basketball community since 1996. He was the Founder and Executive Director of Brooklyn Bridge Basketball, Inc. – an organization that emphasizes character-building skills, education and basketball.
Khalid has an extensive coaching background, having served as a Graduate Assistant at Long Island University, then as an Assistant Coach at Abraham Lincoln and Benjamin Banneker High Schools, and ultimately landing the Varsity Head Coach role at his alma mater, Bishop Loughlin High School. During his coaching career, he has won multiple championships and developed hundreds of young people and multiple college and NBA level players.
He later served as a scout for the Brooklyn Nets and then worked in Community Relations for the Nets and then the New York Knicks. He is also a Professor at Long Island University where he teaches a class on NBA Prospect Evaluation as well as an Introductory Coaching course.
Khalid earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Health and Physical Education from Morehouse College, a Master’s Degree in English from Long Island University, and a Master’s Degree in Sports Management from Columbia University.
